Key Responsibilities : Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles, either in the field or virtually, to assess the extent of damage and needed repairs. Prepare detailed and accurate damage appraisals using industry-standard software (e.g., CCC, Mitchell) and align estimates with company guidelines and industry practices. Work closely with body shops and repair facilities to verify the accuracy of damage assessments, repair methods, and costs to ensure fair and reasonable settlements. Communicate effectively with policyholders to explain the claims and appraisal process, address concerns, and provide guidance on next steps. Work in partnership with claims adjusters, repair shops, and other third parties to facilitate the timely resolution of claims. Ensure all appraisals comply with company policies, state regulations, and industry best practices. Accurately document and report appraisal findings, including photos, detailed estimates, and any other required documentation. Stay current with industry trends, repair methods, and new technologies. Participate in ongoing training and education opportunities to maintain expertise and improve performance. Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or trade school degree in automotive repair or related field. 4 year Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, or related field (preferred). Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto body repair or appraisal. Previous experience in an insurance claims environment is a plus Ability to manage a high volume of claims while meeting deadlines. Proficiency in claims management systems and relevant software. Knowledge of state and federal regulations impacting auto claims. Preferred Skills : Proficient in the use of auto appraisal software (e.g., CCC One, Mitchell). Strong understanding of vehicle construction, repair methods, and parts. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
