Job Description

About the Role: Tier I Technicians perform essential troubleshooting, regular maintenance, and component replacements. They might also take on non-technical roles, like stocking parts and ensuring a tidy workspace. They need to be skilled in preventative maintenance, lubricants and fluids, brakes, and battery/starter/alternator systems. Proficiency in preventative maintenance, lubricants, brakes, and battery/starter/alternator systems is essential. In your role as a Technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. You will be vital in keeping both customer and company equipment in good working order by performing regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs according to company standards. Business Operating Hours/Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm In this role you can expect to:

  • Troubleshooting and Repair
  • Diagnose and repair basic mechanical problems, that may include but not limited to engines, transmissions, and other essential components of heavy machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and hydraulic systems, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment with the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, addressing issues related to fuel systems, exhaust, and emissions with the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Preventive Maintenance
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance of equipment to ensure it remains in rental ready condition.
  • Daily inspection, greasing, checking fluid levels, etc.
  • Safety Compliance
  • Follow company safety and workplace policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used and work performed.
  • Completion of work orders, inventory counts, etc.
  • Supplemental
  • Participates in training programs for the development of skills and knowledge
  • Work effectively with all levels of the company -- Parts, Service, Sales, Rental
  • Meet Key Performance Indicator (KPI) requirements, including productivity, quality, and safety standards
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School
  • Acceptable Driving Record
  • Completion of a technical program, apprenticeship, 0-2 years of direct experience, or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and working collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to work in all forms of weather conditions.
