Job Description

A K-12 Special Education Teacher position is available at a school in High Point, NC, to provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs throughout the academic school year. This contract role offers the opportunity to support individualized education programs (IEPs) and foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans tailored to student abilities and requirements.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure the students academic and social-emotional progress.
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to meet the unique learning styles of diverse learners.
• Monitor and document student progress while maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input for evaluations, accommodations, and behavior interventions.
• Create a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and success.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with K-12 students with disabilities across various grade levels.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding special education, including IDEA compliance.
• Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, and educational professionals.
• Ability to implement behavior management techniques and differentiated instruction.
