Womenswear Designer - Contemporary Branded Apparel Womenswear Designer - Contemporary Branded Apparel We are seeking a Womenswear Designer with a strong background in branded and licensed apparel, specializing in a contemporary design aesthetic across all womenswear categories. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern trends, branding, and market positioning, translating key insights into commercially successful collections. Experience designing for the off-price retail segment is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Trend Research & Design Research and identify key trends, fabrics, silhouettes, and color palettes relevant to contemporary womenswear. Develop seasonal concepts and collections that align with brand identity and licensing requirements while maintaining a modern, fashion-forward aesthetic. Design elevated, trend-driven womenswear pieces across various categories, balancing creativity with commercial appeal. Create detailed sketches, CADs, and technical packages to support production. Licensing & Brand Collaboration Ensure all designs adhere to licensing brand guidelines, maintaining both brand integrity and creative innovation. Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including licensing partners and retailers, to align on product vision and execution. Product Development & Execution Oversee the end-to-end design process, from concept through final approval, ensuring alignment with brand objectives. Work closely with technical design and production teams to refine fit, construction, and fabric choices that enhance product quality and maintain a contemporary feel. Ensure designs align with costing requirements while meeting creative and commercial objectives. Retailer Engagement & Market Strategy Present design concepts tailored to retailer needs, ensuring they align with the demands of the contemporary womenswear market. Incorporate retailer and market feedback while maintaining creative integrity. Stay informed on competitor analysis, consumer insights, and retail landscape shifts to continually refine product offerings. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with sales, merchandising, and marketing teams to ensure designs align with business objectives. Monitor the performance of designs in the market, leveraging data and feedback to refine future collections. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field. 5+ years of womenswear design experience, specializing in branded, licensed apparel with a contemporary design aesthetic. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and other design tools. Deep understanding of fabrications, trims, and garment construction across multiple product categories. Strong trend forecasting and market analysis skills to ensure designs are relevant and commercially successful. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively. Compensation/Benefits: The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $95,000.00 - $105,000.00, which can vary based on role requirements, skill set, and years of experience.
